Golden Cayenne fits the bill as a truly ornamental edible. Beautiful 2-ft-tall plants are quick, vigorous, and well- stocked with smooth-skinned 4-6” peppers that hold their bright color for many weeks on the plants. Peppers have a sweet/smoky flavor in addition to plenty of heat, usually a bit hotter than red cayenne. Great in containers.
Culture: Seeds germinate at 80 degrees, and young plants are very frost-sensitive, so start indoors in March or April, with bottom heat, for best results.
