Organic Cleome 'Violet Queen'

This fascinating flower is easy to grow, deer resistant, and heat and drought tolerant. It’s great for back-of-border spots where you won’t brush up against its spiny stems. Blooms open continuously at the growing tips, starting when the plants are less than 2' tall but reaching 6’ by summer’s end. Brilliant violet, they stand out even at a distance – but get up close to marvel at the extra-long stamens and the seed pods that pop open at a touch.
