The best candidate we’ve so far discovered in the quest for an open-pollinated variety to rival the hybrid Sungold – though as always in life, best appreciated on its own terms. Sweet Orange II is the work of independent breeder Tim Peters. Fruits are large (1”) blocky orange cherries with a bright sweet taste and consistently high sugar levels. Vines are vigorous, healthy, and incredibly productive.
