Though sesame is a frost-sensitive tropical plant, it’s fast-growing and will produce seed in temperate climates. The longer and warmer your season, the better the yield. Bushy 4’ plants produce single tubular flowers along main stems, which become 1” seed pods, each full of tightly packed seeds. This Japanese heirloom variety has black seeds.
