A noble romaine, Majestic Red features oversize bronze-red leaves with savoyed edges arranged loosely around its cylindrical head. Its open habit and fast growth make it well suited for an extended season of loose-leaf harvest. Perhaps the best-tasting romaine, its leaves remain crisp, juicy and sweet deep into the heat of summer. One of the slowest romaines to bolt, right up there with Jericho.
Culture: Plant in early to late spring, or in late summer for autumn salads. Full sun in cool weather, down to half sun in heat.
